Fernando “Anything Can Be Done” Zorrilla is the CEO of Everglades Technologies, a company he founded in 2000.  The firms mission is to provide state-of-the-art office automation solutions that include the design, installation and support of voice and data networks.  Initially based in South Florida, it serviced clients headquartered in Miami with a presence throughout Latin America.  In 2002, Everglades expanded to New York City, servicing the tri-state area.  Over the last few years, the company’s growth has accelerated significantly and, in 2006, it reached the milestone of servicing its 200th client.  Its extensive and diverse client roster includes companies in finance, real estate and advertising.

Born and raised in Spain, Fernando received his BS in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1990 from Northeastern University.  Fernando began his career at the Whirlpool Corporation where he was responsible for developing their communications network in Latin America. He then joined Visa International where he led the expansion of their satellite communications network for member banks throughout Latin America.  Fernando is currently an active member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Entrepreneurs' Organization.

Ben “What Else Can I Do For YOU?” Jones is the Director of Sales at Everglades Technologies.  Ben is a graduate of Bucknell University, and has 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.  Beginning in 1997, Ben worked for Broadview Communications in Baltimore, MD, and was involved with some of their first commercial frame relay and international co-location accounts.  In 2000, he moved to the New York Metropolitan area and began work for eLink, a building telecommunications provider, where he was their top sales representative.  Ben joined Everglades Technologies in 2005 and has helped to double sales revenue and expand the sales force in that time.  Ben lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children and spends his free time rooting for his hometown teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. 

Christian “The Comedy Encyclopedia” Norcia has been on the team as an Account Executive since February 2007.  He received his Undergraduate Degree in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2001.  Before coming to Everglades he worked for Morgan Stanley from 2001 to 2003 in their Fixed Income Derivatives Trading and Sales Support area.  He also spent 4 years in Corporate Sales at T-Mobile USA in Miami, FL and Northern NJ.  Christian is an avid golfer and spends as much time playing as he can.

Gino “Always Bet on Black” Mulliqi has been the youngster of the Sales team at Everglades since the summer of 2007, and the only thing he loves more than the “Dirty Dancing” soundtrack is his Albanian heritage.  Before Everglades, Gino worked for One Communications as an Account Executive from 2005 to 2007 while earning his degree in Finance and Business at Baruch College.  Gino’s primary duties there were creating relationships with other networking companies and expanding the company’s clientele, making him a perfect fit for Everglades.  Gino moved to New York in 2002 from Oregon, where he lived as an exchange student from Kosovo.  His hobbies include sports, playing poker with his friends, and working out.  

David "Salesman To the Stars" Sacks started with Everglades Technologies as an account representative in February 2008. He graduated from Ramapo College of NJ with a history major in 2000 and started in the technology field as an AV Account Representative from 2000-2002 for a small company in NJ. He moved to NY to work at various hotels for their in-house AV department, including the Marriott Marquis (top sales person for their largest ballroom for the last year he was there), Sheraton Towers, Le Parker Meridian (Director of AV department) and the Plaza Hotel. He lives in Astoria, Queens with his girlfriend and does not have any children. He likes to jog and go to the park and/or beach any chance he gets.

Christopher "Beantown" Re joined our Sales team this year after a successful run as one of the top Account Executives in the NYC area for One Communications. He grew up in and around the Boston area, earning his Bachelors degree in Exercise Science from Bridgewater State College. He ran his own Personal Training company in Boston after college, and followed that up as Manager/Director of Yankee Candle Company's corporate fitness center at their national headquarters. Christopher is an avid sports fan, and his loyalties lie with his hometown teams. He wrestled in both high school and college, and spends his time working out, playing sports, reading, and listening to music.

Jose “Make It Happen” Cordero started out with his own cabling company, and joined forces with Fernando in 2002.  He is the company’s Senior Project Manager with 15 years of experience in the telecommunications field.  Before Everglades he worked as a Field Operations Manager for a CLEC.  He enjoys spending time with his wife and decking out his son’s room with high-end electronics.

Miguel “Does That Yankee Hat Come Off?” Cruz has been in the telecommunications industry for 9 years, working on both the provider side and the vendor side.  With his comprehensive experience he’s able to understand all aspects of his customers’ needs.  If you are familiar with Miguel then you can be confident that your needs will be met when he is working with you.  You can look forward to him making your ETNY experience a great one.

Jose “Knock It Out” Fontan values the learning experience he has gained in his two years with Everglades.  His tasks vary by day, but his specialty lies in building IT rooms… and he KNOCKS IT OUT.  Before joining the team he did similar field work for a variety of telecom companies for 6 years, and is happy to have found a family-oriented company to stick with.

Eric “Head Wax” Rodriguez loves what he does!  He joined the team with 9 years of telecom experience under his belt, and has been a phone and cabling technician with Everglades for over a year now.  He began at Teleco Communications where he worked for 7 years, and then spent another 2 years at Tele-Dynamics.     

Carl “Red Bull Breakfast” Fenton graduated from Soundview Prep in Mount Kisco, NY.  He received his Associates Degree in Business Admin at Monroe College, and is currently enrolled in night school to finish his Bachelor’s Degree.  Carl has worked in the industry for 5 years, and has experience installing alarm and surveillance systems, access and home theater for residential, commercial and industrial sites.  He enjoys playing and watching sports, and spending time with his family.

David "D-A/V Crockett" LLano graduated from Full Sail College in 2005 with a degree in Audio Engineering. He has just joined us from Miami, Florida and is excited to be living in The City. David has worked in Recording Studios, Production Audio, Broadcast, and is now bringing the gift of cutting-edge Audio Visual services to the clients and future clients of Everglades Technologies. David enjoys creating, capturing, researching and editing sound.

Christian "Big Guy" Batista has joined us this year at Everglades Technologies as a Cabling Technician. In addition to having studied at City Tech for Electrical Engineering, he brings close to 5 years of cabling experience to our cabling team. Christian is a native New Yorker, and as soon as ski season comes around he is always geared up to hit the slopes on his snowboard.

Joshua "Daddy Yankee" Pahl is another new addition to the cabling team at Everglades Technologies. He has upwards of four years of experience as a telecom technician under his belt. Josh is a U.S. Army veteran, and attended BMCC in Lower Manhattan where he studied Theater and Film Production. He enjoys physical sports like basketball, football, paintball, and martial arts. But his favorite way to spend time is with his 14-month old son, showing him the ropes.

Elliott “Who Needs Weekends Off?” White joined the team in 2007 as the new IT Department Manager.  He is responsible for the full Everglades team of Network Engineers. Microsoft Certified and a Cisco Small Business Communications System Professional, he is currently completing the Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer and Cisco Certified Network Associate certifications.  Personal time goes to travel, indulging his interest in sports cars, and, of course, anything IT! 

Alex “The Count” Shternberg joined Everglades in 2002. He has over 25 years of international experience in the radio, electronic, and computer industries (and may or may not have lived in Transylvania).  Alex has been a Microsoft Certified System Engineer since 1999, and a Cisco Certified Network Specialist since 2000.

Before Everglades, Mikhail “The Funny Russian” Shternberg worked in the programming field with multi-million dollar Mainframe computers. He moved to the United States from Ukraine in 1996.  He developed production applications in several programming languages, first for Data Merchant Services and then for UBS Pain Webber.  In 2002 he came to Everglades as a network technician, and has been on the team ever since.

Ryan Link joined the Everglades team in May 2008 as Assistant Manager of Projects and Accounts. He comes from a varied background in software support for companies in his hometown of Seattle (MetaInfo and SPRY Inc.) and in Boston (eRoom Technology), as well as a couple of New York IT firms. Rumor has it Ryan leads a double life as an actor and rock star: he appeared in the Broadway cast of RENT a few years ago, and his current real-life avatar is the singer/guitarist of NYC power-pop band Kill The Camera.

Richard “Noah’s Ark” Rivera joined the team in 2005 as Office Assistant.  The King of Multi-tasking, he has been seen balancing four phone calls at once without dropping a beat.  He currently handles all purchasing and is a Voice Over IP technician.  He has a degree in Liberal Arts & Computer Information Management.  Before Everglades, Richard worked in real estate and Law.  He lives in his own personal Noah’s Ark, with 10 pets including 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 birds and a rabbit. 

Richard “Jack of All Trades” Carter became a member of our network team in August 2008. He joined us with 9 years of telecommunications experience from Verizon and Broadview Networks. He specializes in remote IT support and is planning to complete the MS Certification Program. Richard is also a die hard Yankee fan.

Ruddy “Rude Boy” Melendez has been working as a seasonal employee for Everglades since January 2006. Ruddy’s role at Everglades began with the Cabling team, but since then he has earned a spot in the Network Team. He is currently enrolled as a senior, working on his BS in Computer Science, at Stony Brook University. In short, Ruddy is a true geek with an interest in all tech related topics, the social intricacies of the internet, and everything Apple.

Rhonda "Excel" Riedel joined Everglades Technologies in 2003 as the Business Director.  Previously, Ms. Riedel was the Human Resources Director for Xuppa, Inc., an online marketing agency.  She has previously held finance and marketing positions in the technology, nonprofit, and retail industries.  Ms. Riedel anticipates receiving her M.B.A. degree from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 2008.  She received a B.F.A. from The Juilliard School and serves as the Executive Director of the Riedel Dance Theater.

Ally "McBeal" Kenworthy joined the Everglades team in October of 2008 as Office Assistant. She recently moved from Vermont to conquer the Big Apple. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from the University of Tampa. In her spare time Ally loves to paint, take photos, and spend time with friends and family.

Fred “The Happy Assassin” Paulino joined Everglades in June of 2007 as the Account Receivables Manager.  Every morning since, he has bombarded the office with high-fives and boundless energy.  He graduated from the City College of NY with a BA in Management and Administration.  He is also a member of the NY National Guards.  Outside of work, Fred is currently concentrating on obtaining an MB in Financial Management from Iona College.  Inside of work, he’s working hard to take his career a step further in Everglades.

Sylvia “Paparazzi” Stan happily joined the Everglades team with over 10 years of experience in telecommunications.  She handles bookkeeping and invoicing needs, and dresses like a star while doing it.  Before Everglades, she worked for Societe Generale and Tullett & Tokyo Brokerage.  She is a college graduate with an AAS in Business and a BS in Marketing from CUNY.
