Fernando “Anything Can Be Done” Zorrilla is the CEO of Everglades Technologies, a company he founded in 2000. The firm’s mission is to provide state-of-the-art office automation solutions that include the design, installation and support of voice and data networks. Initially based in South Florida, it serviced clients headquartered in Miami with a presence throughout Latin America. In 2002, Everglades expanded to New York City, servicing the tri-state area. Its extensive and diverse client roster includes companies in finance, real estate and advertising. Born and raised in Spain, Fernando received his BS in Electrical Engineering Technology in 1990 from Northeastern University. Fernando began his career at the Whirlpool Corporation where he was responsible for developing their communications network in Latin America. He then joined Visa International where he led the expansion of their satellite communications network for member banks throughout Latin America. Fernando is currently an active member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. |

Ben “What Else Can I Do For YOU?” Jones is the Director of Sales at Everglades Technologies. Ben is a graduate of Bucknell University, and has 10 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Beginning in 1997, Ben worked for Broadview Communications in Baltimore, MD, and was involved with some of their first commercial frame relay and international co-location accounts. In 2000, he moved to the New York Metropolitan area and began work for eLink, a building telecommunications provider, where he was their top sales representative. Ben joined Everglades Technologies in 2005 and has helped to double sales revenue and expand the sales force in that time. Ben lives in Connecticut with his wife and three children and spends his free time rooting for his hometown teams, the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens.

Sean “Great Job Today Buddy” Cooney joins the Everglades team with over 10 years of Telecommunication experience. Sean won several awards as a Major Account Manager at Broadview Networks including President’s Club. Sean has a broad knowledge of the Telecom and Technology markets and has advised multiple Fortune 500 companies on Unified Communications strategies. Sean joined Everglades because he believes in the customer first approach to doing business. The ability to offer a wide range of solutions allows Sean to be a true technology consultant to his clients. A graduate of Trinity College, Sean remains active in mentoring alumni on job placement strategies. Sean enjoys staying active and is always up to date on Boston sports. Sean has travelled extensively in Asia, Australia and New Zealand and has never appeared on Law and Order. |

Elliott “Easy Rider” White joined the team in 2007 as the new IT Department Manager, and worked his way up to the director of the IT Department for Everglades. In 2010 Elliott transitioned to a newly created role of Technical Coordinator to facilitate sales engineering and process across the entire company as well as manage our many vendors that help us do what we do best. Personal time goes to traveling, bicycling, and anything tech.

Greg “Too Dapper” Fils-Aime was brought on to support the Sales team in 2010. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Music and heads a young entrepreneurs focus group called the Black Masters in his hometown of Peekskill, NY. His passion for new technology makes Everglades the perfect home for him. Gregory currently is working towards receiving his M.B.A. in Marketing and Finance and in his spare time, he can be seen enjoying time with his wonderful lady, playing the piano, songwriting, and creating mischief with his brothers and sisters.

Rob “Kickball King” Francke joined Everglades Technologies in May of 2011 becoming the Company’s first Purchasing Coordinator. After high school he spent some time in Germany as an exchange student. Upon returning to the US, he completed his AA degree. Then, while serving in the US Air Force, Rob graduated from both the Defense Language Institute with a Certification as a Russian Linguist and graduating from Aerospace Ground Equipment Technical School. Using the GI Bill to pay for college, he graduated from the University of Central Florida with a BA in Business Administration. Rob moved to NYC in 2003, 4 days before the blackout (but he swears it was not his fault). Rob began working in the tech industry as the Office Manager/Dispatcher for a small managed IT services company in lower Manhattan.

Jose “Make It Happen” Cordero started out with his own cabling company, and joined forces with Fernando in 2002. He is the company’s Senior Project Manager with 15 years of experience in the telecommunications field. Before Everglades he worked as a Field Operations Manager for a CLEC. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, and decking out his son’s room with high-end electronics.

Miguel “Where’s my Yankees Hat?” Cruz has been in the telecommunications industry for 9 years, working on both the provider side and the vendor side. With his comprehensive experience he’s able to understand all aspects of his customers’ needs. Jose “Knock It Out” Fontan values the learning experience he has gained in his two years with Everglades. His tasks vary by day, but his specialty lies in building IT rooms… and he KNOCKS IT OUT. Before joining the team he did similar field work for a variety of telecom companies for 6 years, and is happy to have found a family-oriented company to stick with.

Kevin “Where’s My Timesheet!?” De Leon has been a field technician for 8 years. Any phone system you can name, he knows it like the back of his hand. His job is to install your phone system and program it to fit your needs. He is also the person who will train you once everything is ready. “The reason you are reading my bio here at Everglades is because I have finally found a place where everyone works as a team to make sure you are taken care of from the time you meet us.”

Christian “Big Guy” Batista joined Everglades Technologies in 2008 as a Cabling Technician. In addition to having studied at City Tech for Electrical Engineering, he brings close to 5 years of cabling experience to our cabling team. Christian is a native New Yorker, and as soon as ski season comes around he is always geared up to hit the slopes on his snowboard.

Charles “Boy Genius” Stucklen was raised in Long Island and by the age of 16 was already catering to the AV needs of the Montauk to Manhattan crowd. With experience in various control systems in the automation industry, his preference in Control4 yielded an ideal fit to join the Everglades team in late 2009 as the head AV Technician. Besides AV, his passions are Interface Design and Media Production.

Bruce “Captain Awesome” Reed was born and raised in Florida, where he received a degree in Music Production and Audio Engineering. After college, he began designing and installing electronics systems across the sunshine state, and brings six years of audio, video, burglar alarm and telecommunications experience to Everglades. He is also an avid composer and recording engineer.

Marcus “The Beard” Ulrich earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music (production and engineering) from Berklee College in 2006. He joined the Everglades team in 2011. By day he is the Assistant Project Manager for Everglades. By night he engineers sound for live music throughout New York City. He plays the drums, enjoys a fine micro-brew, and project manages his beard like it’s his job.

Luis “The new Kid on the Block” Laboy joined Everglades in 2011 as a cabling technician. He was born and raised in the Bronx, where he earned a BBA in Information Technology at Monroe College. Luis also holds an A+ certification and a Network+ certification. He is eager to learn more skills and looking to pursue more certification in the months ahead. In his spare time he loves to spend it with his wife and daughter as well as escaping to the Caribbean island for a scuba diving excursion, which he is certified in.

Paul “There’s an Accident in the Tunnel” Bartkowski joined the Everglades teams in 2011 as a cabling technician. He adds almost 14 years of telecom experience to the cabling team, and enjoys the “total teamwork” aspect of how things are done at Everglades. His strongest talent: problem solving. In his spare time, he builds custom wood furniture and plays online games like World of Warcraft and Star Wars TOR.

Alex “The Count” Shternberg joined Everglades in 2002. He has over 25 years of international experience in the radio, electronic, and computer industries (and may or may not have lived in Transylvania). Alex has been a Microsoft Certified System Engineer since 1999, and a Cisco Certified Network Specialist since 2000.

Ryan “Light My Candle” Link joined the Everglades team in May 2008 as Assistant Manager of Projects and Accounts. He comes from a varied background in software support for companies in his hometown of Seattle (MetaInfo and SPRY Inc.) and in Boston (eRoom Technology), as well as a couple of New York IT firms. Ryan’s not-so-secret moonlighting as an actor and musician – in rock clubs and on Broadway stages – keeps him relatively sane and able to handle the pressures of network administration. The performing life balances nicely with the people skills and technical know-how needed in the IT world.

Richard “Noah’s Ark” Rivera joined the team in 2005 as Office Assistant, and is currenlty the VoIP Manager. The King of Multi-tasking, he has been seen balancing four phone calls at once without dropping a beat. He currently heads up our Voice Over IP and Provisioning Departments. He has a degree in Liberal Arts & Computer Information Management. Before Everglades, Richard worked in real estate and Law. He lives in his own personal Noah’s Ark, with 10 pets including 3 dogs, 3 cats, 3 birds and a rabbit.

Nestor “Life Hacker” Mejias joined Everglades in 2010 as Remote Support Engineer. He was born and raised in NYC, and recently moved to Brooklyn with his wife and daughter. After seeing an IT solutions company refresh an entire infrastructure over the course of a weekend, he was amazed and decided on a career in Information Technology. He earned a BBA in IT at Monroe College. In his spare time Nestor likes to travel with his family, research new technologies, and work out.

Ruddy “Ruettiger” Melendez is the Service Coordinator for the Network Team. Ruddy has been working as a seasonal employee for Everglades since January 2006. He first joined the Cabling Team, later pioneered the Remote Support Engineer position for the Network Team, and finally joined full-time at his current position. Ruddy received a degree in Computer Science from Stony Brook University and worked for Apple during his stay in college. In short, Ruddy is a true geek with an interest in all tech related topics, the social intricacies of the internet, and everything Apple.

Pavlo Lyovkin joined the team in March of 2012 as a Network Engineer. He was raised in the Ukraine and moved to the US in the age of 20. Pavlo currently holds a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from Brooklyn College and has a Cisco CCNA certificate. He has experience working as an IT Consultant and Systems Administrator for NYC technology companies before joining the Everglades team. In his spare time Pavlo enjoys swimming, skiing and playing tennis as well as going out with his friends and girlfriend.

Rhonda “Excel” Riedel joined Everglades Technologies in 2003 as the Business Director. Previously, Ms. Riedel was the Human Resources Director for Xuppa, Inc., an online marketing agency. She has previously held finance and marketing positions in the technology, nonprofit, and retail industries. Ms. Riedel received her M.B.A. degree from the Leonard N. Stern School of Business at New York University in 2008. She received a B.F.A. from The Juilliard School and serves as the Executive Director of the Riedel Dance Theater.

Wilberthe “Wray” Micourt joined the Everglades Accounting team in 2011 as the Accounting Coordinator. She received her BS in Accounting from Utica College of Syracuse University in 2005. She has previously held different accounting positions in CPA firms. She was born and still resides in Long Island. She loves to read, dance and watch the history channel. She has a passion for fashion and helping others. She currently is a member of an organization called Dresses for Haiti, which raises money and awareness for the country of Haiti. |

Val “East Numbers” Bukrinski joined the Everglades team in 2011 as Accounting Manager. Val moved to NY as a teenager. He graduated from the Juilliard School and at first pursued a career in music, but gradually switched into the field of accounting and bookkeeping, eventually becoming a full-charge bookkeeper-accountant. He has worked for a number of small and medium size businesses before joining the team at Everglades Tech. |

Rosa “But What If” Luna joined the Everglades Team in 2010, and is currently the Brand Manager. Originally from Virginia, she moved to NYC in March of 2010. She enjoys working for such an innovative company. She captained the first company kickball team. In her spare time, she likes to play frisbee, do pilates, and make art. She is also a web design TA at 3rd Ward. |

Alexandria “Wunderkind” Standi joined the Everglades team in 2011 as the Office Administrator. She holds an AA in Liberal Arts, and is currently working towards a degree in Business/Accounting. Building and expanding with a growing company is Alex’s career goal. On her free time she is active in her hobbies as a blogger, photographer and crafter. Every year as a tradition, Alex and one of her closest friends go to a new country for their birthdays. So far they have been to: Panama, Cabo, Cancun, St. Maarten, Jamaica, along with a few other countries in the Caribbean and across the Atlantic, as well as states. |

Jordan “Bushwick Prey” Wills studied English, Telecommunications and Film at Michigan State University while working summers at a day camp. Upon graduation he moved to New York to give acting a try. He joined Everglades shortly thereafter, in the summer of 2006. He is currently the Director of Marketing and Admin. Jordan is also an avid drummer and photographer.
